Clay sculpture courses are taught by Miranda, a professional figurative sculptor and qualified tutor with over 20 years experience, she will give step-by-step guidance using demonstrations, examples and individual attention.

Describe your image

Bring clay to life by sculpting your own unique and lifelike Green Man. Miranda will show you how to create a realistic face full of character to get you started with your Green Man which you will then embellish with leaves and decorative details to your own design. You may take your sculpture home with you at the end of the day (please note unfired work is unsuitable for outdoors) or leave it to be fired and collect later.

Introduction to portrait sculpture
This two day course introduces the key aspects of sculpting a portrait giving you the basic skills needed to create a portrait in clay. We will cover the practicalities of modelling with clay plus the principles of proportion, structure and anatomy to create a life-like portrait working from a choice of example busts after the antique. We work in self hardening clay so that you can take your work home with you (suitable for indoors only)​​

Create a portrait sculpture in clay of a loved one from 2D images
Portrait sculpture from photographs
This two day course is suitable for those with some experience at sculpture. Working from 2D images - either printed or digital, you will recreate the portrait of a loved one in clay. We will cover the practicalities of modelling with clay plus the principles of proportion, structure and anatomy to create a life-like portrait to take home or leave to be fired and collect later.​
